services overview
Sendero Therapy Services provides outstanding career opportunities in occupational and physical therapy. Since 2001, Sendero Therapy, Inc. has been committed to fostering an ethical, excellent, enjoyable, and supportive environment. We cultivate a personal, professional, and team-oriented culture
that empowers speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to thrive and deliver the highest standard of compassionate care to children.
A. Tier I services focus on universal strategies within the classroom, like brain breaks and fine motor activities, supported by environmental scans and typically a six-week intervention plan to identify students who may need additional support. Tier II services provide more targeted, student-specific interventions, with direct support in natural school settings, regular assessments, and adjustments based on student progress. If students continue to struggle, they may be considered for further evaluation and eligibility for special education services. Sendero staff are trained to embed MTSS strategies, helping to decrease referrals and the cost of services.
A. Inclusion Services involve integrating OT/PT support directly within the classroom environment, either through individual sessions during relevant class activities or through group inclusion where therapists work alongside teachers to support multiple students. Strategies include trial periods to ease teacher concerns, consulting on the best class settings for therapy, and collaborating with teachers and aides to align therapy goals with classroom activities, ensuring all students benefit from inclusive practices.
A. School-based Occupational Therapy (OT) aims to enhance students’ ability to perform everyday activities across nine key areas: education, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), IADLs (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living), social participation, play, leisure, sleep/rest, work, and health management. OTs help students develop skills for academic success, social interactions, self-care, and community participation, promoting independence and confidence in school settings.
B. School-based Physical Therapy (PT) focuses on improving students’ mobility, physical function, and participation in school environments. PT services support strength, balance, coordination, and safety awareness to help students engage in classroom activities, playground play, and community settings. Therapists work collaboratively with school teams to ensure accessibility, promote wellness, and provide necessary accommodations for students to thrive in the least restrictive environment.
